Giants Vs. Padres 4/7/2021

The Padres were coming off of a nice win over the Giants where Yu Darvish pitched very well. The Giants were coming off of a loss to the Padres and hoped to bounce back in this game. The winner of this game would win the series. This game was also the final game of a 6 game road trip for the Giants. Austin Slater in center field would be back to the top of the lineup for the Giants in this game hitting leadoff. Mike Yastrzemski in right field would be back in the lineup in this game up 2nd. Donovan Solano (2B) would be up 3rd, Evan Longoria (3B) hitting cleanup, Wilmer Flores (1B) hitting 5th, Darin Ruf (LF) up 6th, Curt Casali (C) hitting 7th, Mauricio Dubón (SS) hitting 8th, and last but not least, Kevin Gausman (P) up 9th. The Padres lineup would be Jake Cronenworth (2B) hitting leadoff, Wil Myers (RF) hitting 2nd, Manny Machado (3B) hitting 3rd, Eric Hosmer (1B) hitting cleanup, Luis Campusano (C) hitting 5th, Jurickson Profar (LF) hitting 6th, Ha-Seong Kim (SS) hitting 7th, Jorge Mateo (CF) hitting 8th, and finally, Blake Snell on the bump hitting 9th. This looked like it would be another battle of pitchers in this game with 2 more great pitchers starting in Blake Snell and Kevin Gausman. For the Padres to win they needed to find a nice start out of Blake Snell, exploit the Giants bullpen, and limit Giants homers.
