Easter: Warriors Vs. Hawks 4/4/2021

The Hawks came into this game riding a 2 game losing streak entering this game. The Warriors came into this game after losing 6 of their last 7 games and losing by 53 points. The Warriors and Hawks played earlier in the season and the Hawks won 124-108. Stephen Curry didn’t play in that game so this would be the first time that Stephen Curry would play Trae Young since 2018. John Collins would be out for the Hawks in this game but the Hawks would have Lou Williams who they didn’t have the first time these 2 teams played. For the Hawks to win they needed to stop Steph, force turnovers, and find a nice game out of Clint Capela or Trae Young. For the Warriors to win they needed to limit fouls and turnovers, stop Trae Young, and find a nice game out of Stephen Curry. Would the Warriors win with Steph back or would the shorthanded Hawks get the win? To the game!

Leo’s Courtside Commentary: This was a disappointing loss for the Warriors especially because it came on Easter. This loss was fueled by an absurd game out of Clint Capela of 24 points, 18 rebounds, a steal, and 2 blocks. Danilo Gallinari was also a highlight for the Hawks with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Lou Williams chipped in with a nice 15 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and a steal. Stephen Curry led the Warriors with 37 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. Kelly Oubre Jr. played well for the Warriors as well with 20 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 3 blocks. Draymond Green was a producer too with 11 points, 7 rebounds, 11 assists, and 4 steals. The Warriors ended up with 6 more assists, 4 fewer rebounds, 2 more steals, 3 more blocks, 1 more turnover, and 7 more fouls than the Hawks. The Warriors shot well in this game with 46.7% from the field and 25% from deep. The Hawks shot pretty well too with 43.2% from the field and 37.5% from 3. Overall, this was a close game but an eventual loss for the Warriors.
