Warriors Vs. Bulls 3/29/2021

The Bulls entered this game riding a 3 game losing streak and hoping to snap it. The Warriors entered this game riding a 4 game losing streak and just like the Bulls the Warriors hoped to snap it. The last time the Warriors played the Bulls they won 129-128 but Nikola Vučević, Al-Farouq Aminu, nor Daniel Theis were on the team. In this game they were which meant the Bulls had significantly improved. The Warriors had also recently improved because they got Stephen Curry back after 5 missed games. This would likely be a very fun game to watch but for the Bulls to win they would likely need to defend Stephen Curry well, force turnovers, and find a nice game out of Nikola Vučević. For the Warriors to win they needed to rebound well, defend Zach LaVine and Nikola Vučević well, and find a nice game out of Stephen Curry. Would the Warriors break their losing streak or would the newly constructed Bulls take home the win? To the game!

James Wiseman won the tip which led to a Patrick Williams jumper after a defensive stop from the Bulls. At 11:11 Andrew Wiggins made pullup jumper to give the Warriors their first points of the game and tie the game. At 10:52 Kelly Oubre Jr. made a jumper to give the Warriors the lead. At 9:47 Stephen Curry made a 3 to give the Warriors a 5 point lead. Then at 9:31 Nikola Vučević made a jumper to make it a 3 point game for the Bulls. At 5:46 Tomáš Satoransky made a dunk to tie the game at 16. At 5:35 Stephen Curry made a 3 to retake the lead for the Warriors. At 4:43 Nikola Vučević made a technical free throw after a defensive 3 seconds violation from James Wiseman to tie the game. Then at 4:31 Ryan Arcidiacono made a 3 to give the Bulls the lead. At 3:56 Patrick Williams made a jumper to give the Bulls a 5 point lead. At 3:42 Stephen Curry made a 3 to make it a 2 point game for the Warriors. At 2:38 Steph made a midrange jumper to tie the game for the Warriors. Then at 2:12 Lauri Markkanen made a 3 to retake the lead for the Bulls. Draymond Green played well too with 6 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists. Nikola Vučević led the Bulls in the first half with 13 points, 3 rebounds, and 6 assists. Thaddeus Young was right behind with 8 points, 4 rebounds, an assist, and a steal. Patrick Williams also played well with 6 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and a block. The Warriors ended up with 2 fewer assists, 3 fewer rebounds, 2 more steals, 4 fewer turnovers, and 5 fewer fouls than the Bulls in the first half. The Warriors and Bulls each had 3 blocks as well in the first half. The Warriors and Bulls also shot a combined total of only 4 free throws in the first half. At 10:29 James Wiseman slammed home a lob from Andrew Wiggins to give the Warriors the lead and their first points of the quarter. At 9:49 Vučević made a layup to tie the game at 67 for the Bulls. Then at 9:37 Draymond Green made a floater to retake the lead for the Warriors. At 8:16 Andrew Wiggins made a euro step layup to give the Warriors a 6 point lead. At 9:54 Zach LaVine made 2 free throws to give the Bulls their first points of the quarter and make it a 14 point game. At 7:44 Poole made a layup to retake a 16 point lead for the Warriors. Then at 3:19 Patrick Williams made a dunk to make it a 14 point game for the Bulls. At the 3 minute mark Kelly Oubre Jr. made a putback dunk to retake a 16 point lead for the Warriors. At 1:25 Troy Brown Jr. made 1 of 2 free throws to make it a 15 point game. At 1:10 Troy Brown Jr. made a dunk to make it a 13 point game. Then with 50.2 seconds left in the game Damion Lee made a 3 to give the Warriors a 16 point lead. To end the game Javonte Green made a putback layup. The Warriors won 116-102.

Leo’s Courtside Commentary: This was a much needed win for the Warriors led by Stephen Curry with 32 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and a steal. Andrew Wiggins was also a highlight for the Warriors with 21 points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals, and a block. Draymond Green was the final bright spot for the Warriors with 11 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists, a steal, and a block. Nikola Vučević led the Bulls with 21 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists, and a block. Tomáš Satoransky and Patrick Williams also played well with a combined 28 points, 8 rebounds, 12 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. The Warriors ended up with 5 fewer assists, 1 more steal, 3 more blocks, 5 fewer turnovers, and 4 fewer fouls than the Bulls. The Warriors and Bulls each ended with 39 rebounds as well. The Warriors ended up shooting an exceptional 50% from the field, 42.1% from downtown, and 88.9% on free throws. The Bulls ended up shooting 52.4% from the field, 25% from 3, and 72.7% from the free throw line. Overall, this was a great game where the Warriors played very well.
