Giants Vs. Brewers 8/30/2021

The Brewers entered this game coming off of a series loss to the Twins and a stint where they lost 3 for their last 4 games. The Giants entered this game coming off of a series loss to the Braves. This game was the first game of a 4 game series at Oracle Park in San Francisco. The Giants would attempt to take game 1 with LaMonte Wade Jr. (RF) hitting leadoff, Buster Posey (C) hitting 2nd, Brandon Belt (1B) hitting 3rd, Kris Bryant (3B) hitting cleanup, Brandon Crawford (SS) hitting 5th, Mike Yastrzemski (CF) hitting 6th, Alex Dickerson (LF) hitting 7th, Jason Vosler (2B) hitting 8th, and José Álvarez (P) hitting 9th. The Brewers lineup had Kolten Wong (2B) hitting leadoff, Christian Yelich (LF) hitting 2nd, Avisaíl García (RF) hitting 3rd, Omar Narváez (C) hitting cleanup, Rowdy Tellez (1B) hitting 5th, Luis Urías (SS) hitting 6th, Jace Peterson (3B) hitting 7th, Jackie Bradley Jr. (CF) hitting 8th, and Corbin Burnes (P) hitting last. The pitching matchup was between Corbin Burnes who was 8-4 with a 2.30 ERA and reliever José Álvarez who was 4-1 with a 2.12 ERA. This was going to be a bullpen game for the Giants. For the Brewers to win they needed to go through as many of the Giants relievers as possible, give Corbin Burnes a couple of insurance runs, and find a nice start out of Corbin Burnes.
