Giants Vs. Mets 8/26/2021

The Mets entered this game after losing 10 for their last 12 games and losing a 1 run battle to the Giants. The Giants entered this game coming off of another nice win over the Mets. If the Giants won this game they would sweep the Mets but if the Mets win they would avoid the sweep. The Giants would attempt to get the sweep with LaMonte Wade Jr. (RF) hitting leadoff, Tommy La Stella (2B) hitting 2nd, Kris Bryant (3B) hitting 3rd, Brandon Crawford (SS) hitting cleanup, Wilmer Flores (1B) hitting 5th, Alex Dickerson (LF) hitting 6th, Mike Yastrzemski (RF) hitting 7th, Curt Casali (C) hitting 8th, and Alex Wood (P) hitting 9th. The Mets lineup had Brandon Nimmo (CF) hitting leadoff, Francisco Lindor (SS) hitting 2nd, Javier Báez (2B) hitting 3rd, Pete Alonso (1B) hitting cleanup, Dominic Smith (LF) hitting 5th, Jonathan Villar (3B) hitting 6th, Kevin Pillar (RF) hitting 7th, Patrick Mazeika (C) hitting 8th, and Carlos Carrasco (P) hitting last. The pitching matchup in this game was between Alex Wood who was 10-4 with a 4.11 ERA and Carlos Carrasco who was 0-2 with an 8.82 ERA. For the Mets to win this game they needed to hit well off of Alex Wood, capitalize with runners in scoring position, and find a great start out of Carlos Carrasco.
