Giants Vs. Cubs 6/5/2021

The Cubs entered this game riding a 2 game losing streak. The Giants entered this game riding a 2 game win streak. This game happened on my birthday so I was hoping that the Giants would win. If the Giants won this game they would secure themselves a series win. The Giants lineup in this game had LaMonte Wade Jr. (1B) hitting leadoff, Alex Dickerson (LF) hitting 2nd, Evan Longoria (3B) hitting 3rd, Brandon Crawford (SS) hitting cleanup, Steven Duggar (CF) hitting 5th, Mike Tauchman (RF) hitting 6th, Jason Vosler (2B) hitting 7th, Chadwick Tromp (C) hitting 8th, and Kevin Gausman (P) hitting 9th. The Cubs lineup for this game had Joc Pederson (LF) hitting leadoff, Kris Bryant (CF) hitting 2nd, Javier Báez (SS) hitting 3rd, Anthony Rizzo (1B) hitting cleanup, Wilson Contreras (C) hitting 5th, Jason Heyward (RF) hitting 6th, Patrick Wisdom (3B) hitting 7th, Eric Sogard (2B) hitting 8th, and Kohl Stewart (P) hitting last. The pitching matchup was Kevin Gausman who was 6-0, had just won NL pitcher of the month, and had an ERA of 1.40 versus Kohl Stewart who was 1-0 with an ERA of 0.00. For the Cubs to win they needed to get Gausman out early, hit well against the bullpen, and find a nice start out of Kohl Stewart.
