The Giants came into this game riding a nice win over the Mariners and a nice performance from the bullpen. The Mariners came into this game after a rough loss to the Giants. This game determined who would win the series. The Giants lineup would be different in this game because the pitcher was a righty in this game. The Giants lineup was Tommy La Stella (DH) in his first start of the season hitting leadoff, Mike Yastrzemski (RF) hitting 2nd, Donovan Solano (2B) hitting 3rd, Brandon Belt (1B) hitting cleanup, Evan Longoria (3B) hitting 5th, Austin Slater (CF) hitting 7th, Brandon Crawford (SS) hitting 8th, and finally Curt Casali (C) in his first start with the Giants hitting 9th. The Mariners lineup would be Mitch Haniger (DH) hitting leadoff, Ty France (2B) hitting 2nd, Kyle Seager (3B) hitting 3rd, Evan White (1B) hitting cleanup, Taylor Trammell (CF) hitting 5th, Dylan Moore (LF) hitting 6th, Jake Fraley (RF) hitting 7th, Luis Torrens (C) hitting 8th, and J.P. Crawford (SS) hitting last. The starting pitcher for the Giants would be Logan Webb who pitched great in spring training and hoped to carry that over to this game. Chris Flexen would be the starting pitcher for the Mariners in this game and hoped for a nice start. For the Giants to win they needed to hit well, limit walks, and find a nice performance from the bullpen. For the Mariners to win they needed to take advantage of the Giants bullpen, find a nice start out of Flexen, and get walks. Would the Giants or the Mariners win their first series of the season? To the game!
